When you say POD, that means "print on demand." It's a method of publishing a book, in print, without costing yourself thousands in printing costs. POD came out of "just in time" manufacturing ideas for trade publishers, for their backlist books. You're in good company, if you use POD, which is literally used by millions of Amazon/KDP publishers for their paperbacks and hardcovers. 

Well, possibly uou can, if you are technically and technologically proficient, but designing a print book is fraught with pitfalls for the first-timer. Everything that goes into making a commercially-viable, professional-looking book is typically not known to the layperson. We're not saying it's the equivalent of magic spells! But things like leading (space between lines of text, vertically), kerning and tracking (space between letters in a line), the amount of whitespace that should be used on a page--thse are things typically learned "the hard way" by print designers. Why not use their life lessons to your advantage?

You do! You're the copyright holder, not us.  We make no claims on your copyright, your text, your title, your book.  We're simply providing services to you--we have no rights in and to your book. If down the road, you decide to switch from one publishing platform to another (say, from KDP to Ingram) you won't have to get us to "agree" that you have the rights to your own book--you already do!
