There's been a Disturbance in the Force...
Amazon's been asking authors of published works to prove that they are the copyright holders. In fact, it's happening in increasingly large numbers, to folks who've had books published for years.
If you've been hanging out with me for a while, or you're one of our clients, you know that one of my pet peeves is the inattention, by many self-publishing authors, to the realities of the importance of COVER DESIGN. I started nagging you all about this not less than 12 years ago (see my early-on article, Cover Design Calypso which I originally published in 2010), and my various and sundry kibbitzes since then, if you don't remember.
SHAKEN is a collaborative effort; an anthology of 20 short stories contributed by top-selling authors from around the globe, edited by 2011 Edgar Best-Novel nominee Timothy Hallinan.

AMAZON.COM TO DONATE ALL PROCEEDS FROM E-BOOK TO 2011 JAPAN RELIEF FUND
Amazon.com announced today that it will donate its percentage of the $3.99 sales price of the fund-raising Kindle e-book SHAKEN: STORIES FOR JAPAN to the 2011 Japan Relief Fund, administered by Japan America Society of Southern California.
Although this is bittersweet news for us--as we'll be losing a client--it's amazing news for those of you out there toiling on your Indy- and self-published books.
